課程概述

近代（Early Modern）或舊制度（l’Ancien Regime）時期法國是諸多當代知名歐美文化史家致力研究的對象，包括編寫《私生活史》的Philip Arries、《西方婦女史》的兩位主編，Nathalie Zemon Davis與Arlette Farge，書籍史家如Henri-Jean Martin、Robert Darnton、Daniel Roche、Roger Chartier、《新文化史》的主編Lynn Hunt等等。本課程將依循Daniel Roche在《啓蒙運動中的法國》一書裡就法國年鑑學派式的文化史研究—或稱「心態史」（l’histoire des mentalites）—進行的反省為切口，分別就「智識史學與庶民文化史」、「社會規範與女性智識實踐」、「啟蒙運動與書籍史」三個主題，一方面透過綜合性講演，使學生認識近代法國社會文化的特質，一方面帶領學生研讀史料與史學名著，使其掌握近代法國社會文化史家對於史學知識建構所進行的方法論反省。
